We are pleased to announce that Mayeri Industries AS has updated its environmental requirements for suppliers to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of consumer chemical product manufacturing.
Compliance with these requirements helps reduce the negative environmental impact of both the manufacturing of consumer chemical products and the products themselves. It supports sustainability throughout the entire supply chain by ensuring operations are conducted in an environmentally sustainable and ethical manner, thereby reducing the environmental footprint of both production and the final product.
The main requirements for suppliers are as follows:
Sustainable Raw Material Sourcing: Suppliers must ensure that their raw materials are sourced sustainably, meaning they do not harm the environment or local ecosystems. This includes responsible forestry, sustainable agriculture, and the protection of natural resources.
Restriction and Substitution of Chemical Substances: Suppliers must reduce or avoid the use of hazardous chemical substances in the production of raw materials. Instead, environmentally friendly and biodegradable alternatives are favored.
Energy Use and Emissions: Suppliers should implement energy-efficient production processes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The use of renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power, is also recommended.
Water Management: Suppliers must implement water-saving technologies and processes to minimize water usage and prevent polluted water from entering the natural environment.
Waste Reduction and Recycling: Suppliers should minimize production waste and promote recycling. This includes reducing packaging materials and using more environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
Social Responsibility and Working Conditions: In addition to environmental requirements, suppliers should adhere to principles of social responsibility, ensuring a good working environment and fair treatment for all employees.
Certification and Traceability: Suppliers may be required to hold various environmental and social certificates, such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or Fairtrade, to prove their sustainability and ethical practices. It is also important to ensure raw material traceability throughout the entire supply chain.
Regular Auditing and Reporting: Suppliers must agree to regular audits and environmental reporting to demonstrate their sustainability initiatives and compliance with requirements.
These requirements help ensure that our suppliers follow high standards of environmental and social responsibility, contributing to our shared goal—reducing environmental impact and supporting a sustainable future.
We thank all suppliers for their cooperation in creating a more sustainable world!
